Cruising through Paris (Day One)

7 06 2011

If you ever go to Paris, go in early to mid-May. The weather was perfect.

I still can’t believe I was there. It really is a beautiful city with so much to see and do, and eat.

We arrived by train from London (a pretty fast ride) and got on our bus that took us through town. The St. Pancras Station in London already has Olympic rings up for the London 2012 Games.

In Paris there were people everywhere from many different places, just like any big city these days I guess.

We took a ride through town past many sites, and down the Champs-Elysees toward the Arc de Triomphe.

Then it was over to a place where we could get a great view of the Eiffel Tower.

After going to our hotel for a bit of a rest, we got back on the bus to go to the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Had a pretty good dinner of a roasted chicken and French Fries, I got complimented for the horizontal-striped French soccer jersey I was wearing and then it was off to the dock for a cruise down the River Seine as the sun was going down. It was just like in the movies.

And finally, after a long day, the Eiffel Tower at night, lit up. At precisely 10 p.m., the tower began to sparkle with lights.

The video is quick, and you might want to rotate it.
