Celebrating life, honoring those who have passed

26 12 2010

This weekend I was honored to join my in-laws here in Arizona in visiting and saying a prayer for John Hernandez, my wife’s late grandfather, who was a World War II veteran and a guy who truly loved his family.

We also prayed for other deceased family members who rest in peace at the same cemetery in Phoenix. I miss my own grandparents and wish I could have been much closer to them, but I’m happy for the time spent with them.

At this time of year, the people who have touched our lives and those of our loved ones are most important.

I also want to say goodbye to singer Teena Marie, who passed away today at age 54. This song has some special memories for me.

In celebration of life, it was so fun to spend some quality time with my nieces over the weekend. The coolest, sweetest kids I know. Here’s me with two of them.

Hope everyone had a holiday they’ll treasure.
