The Rock still brings it, and hopefully, Lofa will, too.

This new life has me doing all kinds of writing (and other) gigs to make money. The week has gone/will go something like this:

-Covered Arizona Diamondbacks games for AP.
-A couple of Sounders FC-related posts for Soccer by Ives. Big game vs. Real Salt Lake tonight, glad it’ll be on ESPN2.
-High-school football coverage up in Peoria for The Arizona Republic. I’ve come to enjoy Friday night lights again.
-Cover Arizona State vs. Northern Arizona in Tempe for AP.

I watched a lot of MLS highlights from the most recent games. Still love the league and the game. I also caught this entertaining video from The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, the WWE performer-turned-actor known for such sayings as “If ya smell, what the Rock, is cookin'” and “Candy Ass” and “Know Your Role” and “Jabroni” and “Finally, the Rock, has come back, to (insert current city here )______.”

The Rock is calling out the Ohio State Buckeyes on behalf of his beloved U. As in the University of Miami Hurricanes. He was there when the ‘Canes were the coolest college football team in America.

And speaking of football, good column from former colleague Steve Kelley on Lofa Tatupu, one of my all-time favorite Seahawks, and how he came to be at USC with Pete Carroll. The two are reunited by the Seahawks. Best of luck to Lofa this year, he’s got something to prove after being injured for much of last season.
