Italy, Day Two

10 05 2010

Highlights: The Vatican, the Roman ruins, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, dinner with live performance.

Rome is a very cool place with a lot of old buildings and no modern skyscrapers and no freeways through the main part of the city. Day Two was amazing, as I thought it would be hard to top what we saw at the Vatican – Sistine Chapel, the frescoes, etc., – and then we went to the Colosseum.

Being on a tour got us into the Vatican museum fast, and I’m not much of a museum or art guy but one has to appreciate the work. Such a holy place and as a Catholic I was proud to be there, whatever my differences with the church.
