Another night at the yard

21 04 2010

Looks and feels like where I’m from outside (except for the desert and palm trees). Cloudy and 62 at last report in Phoenix, so they shut the roof here at Chase Field and it’s 71 inside. Ah, the memories of nights at Safeco under a closed roof…that wind still blew in and it was still chilly, but good, clean cool air.

I have to laugh at all the jackets and sweaters I see in the crowd because this is nothing for us from the Northwest. At the same time though, I get it. These people are used to straight HEAT. Still, little reminders of the part of the world where I’m from are always good.

By the way, Diamondbacks closer Chad Qualls has too good of entrance music for someone who shouldn’t be closing (in my humble opinion). It’s “Killing in the Name Of”” by Rage Against the Machine.
