It’s going to be 87 degrees on April 9, and free soccer tomorrow!

9 04 2010

Unbelievable. I think that has happened maybe once in a Halley’s Comet back home in the Northwest on April 9.

Back to the ballpark tonight to work the Diamondbacks-Pirates game. Not a whole lot of buzz about this one, though both teams are 2-1. Maybe the most interesting angle is that it’s brother v. brother when Andy (PIT) and Adam LaRoche (AZ) play each other.

Some good NBA matchups tonight, that Western Conference is super tight. Blazers have a tough one against the Dallas Mavericks. Phoenix plays the OKC Thunder/Seattle SuperSonics. And I’m really getting into the NHL, at least the Western Conference, with the playoffs coming up soon. Good shootout finish last night with the local team, the Coyotes, beating the L.A. Kings.

We get the Arizona Republic here at the house, and in looking at the sports page I saw that the local amateur soccer club, the Arizona Sahuaros, is playing against Grand Canyon University tomorrow night here in town.

Admission is free. Free soccer? Can’t beat that, no matter what level. Think I’ll check it out.
